Feng Shui involves setting the environment in such a way that one can get the best of energies from all the directions. For doing so, you need to get a regular old compass and find the four major directions within the place you want to reposition:
North: Black is the color of north. Water is its element and turtle is its animal. The Feng Shui, if balanced, brings in a refreshing energy of calm, purity, freshness and ease.Â
South: Red is the color of south. Fire is its element and phoenix is its animal. The element of fire brings in a supporting energy in your career efforts. This element helps you to achieve recognition in your professional life.Â
East: Green is the color of east. Wood is its element and dragon is its animal.
West: White is the color of west. Metal is its element and the fierce tiger is its animal. The metal element brings the qualities of efficiency, precision, clarity and sharpness once the element is balanced. Feng Shui metal element will help you live with lightness and clarity.
The key is to determine which direction(s) best matches your goals and visually enhances that corner of your living space with its corresponding color, element or animal.

The décor of your guest room should have an indelible impression on your guests. You should be prepared to receive the surprise visitors who may stay overnight or longer. Show the guest your hospitality by decorating the room in the perfect way, as to make the atmosphere in the room cozy and the space, worth staying. In this article, we provide you the ideas for a perfect guest room.
The areas of the room to be concentrated include the walls, flooring, furniture, walls, and most importantly, the color scheme of the guest room. Let us move step by step.
Walls:
Carefully examine walls of the room. Is the paint looking dull? Does the wallpaper need to be replaced? If yes is said then search for a paint, if you want to paint the walls. Remember that warm or neutral colors create the cozy atmosphere in a room. When it comes to wallpaper, go for a soft pattern with a simple border. This will look simple, but sober.
Flooring:
Hardwood flooring is the best option for a cozy room. We would suggest you to get the flooring done in hardwood at the time of renovation. Place an area rug to give a warm touch. If floor is carpeted, then replace the worn out carpet. If the carpet is stained, get it cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner.   Â
Color scheme:
The color of the walls should co-ordinate the color of the furniture, the curtains, bed sheets as well as the throw pillows. The color scheme should be unified and elegant which will please your guests and make them feel comfortable to stay in the room.
Storage space:
Your guest room should have enough storage space for the visitor(s) clothing and personal items. Keep the drawers organized. Provide them a closet as to hang their clothes.
Small details can create bigger impact on your guests as well as the room. The perfect guest room should make them feel like they are home away from home!

Kitchen is one of the rooms in your home full of activities. So, it is important to organize and update it. Add a zing to your kitchen and make it a visual delight. Here are a few tips of how to do it.
Color:
The kitchen is a room of family get-together to commence food, a room where there is no-entry for formalities. So, add a sense of comfort and coziness to the kitchen. Paint the walls in warm and glowing colors.
Storage:
Store your kitchen appliances and gadgets on the counter tops. Another option is a kitchen cart which gives extra storage space so that the room looks tidy.
Sink:
Avoid having a small sink in the kitchen which will result in dishes piling up and dirty water splashing away. Choose a bigger and spacious sink.

Your kid’s room décor needs constant renovation as s/he grows older. Now that you want to change the look of your kid’s room, why not this time add the element of Feng Shui in your kid’s room? Read on to get a few tips on how to spread the positive chi in your kid’s room by decorating it in the Feng Shui style.
Remove the clutter: Your child’s room should have a calming effect. In order to make your kid’s room a safe haven, remove all the clutter in the room. Throw out the old toys which may be of no use for him now. Keep his wardrobe organized. Same applies to his personal objects.
The Bed: The key element of any decoration is providing high level of comfort to your kid in his room. The position of bed is decisive. Your child’s bed should not be placed right across the door. It should be positioned as to allow your child to see the door easily. Ideally, the bed should be in a corner because this will make your child feel secured and will allow better sleep. The position of the bed also depends upon the sleeping habits of your kid. If your child has problems of waking up, place the bed in a position as to keep his head toward east or south during deep sleep. Make sure that you don’t store anything under the bed. Hang a mobile or wind chimes anywhere but over your child’s bed.
The color: Pay attention to the colors you choose for the Feng Shui room. According to the Feng Shui principles, your child’s room should be in earth colors such as light oranges, warm yellow and beige. This will make your child feel safe and comfortable in his space. Cold colors such as blue or gray shades bring a sense or insecurity to your child. So, they should be avoided. However, too bright colors are not recommended for your child’s bedroom.
The choice of color also depends upon the basic nature of your child. If your child is very active, choose warm light and relaxing colors such as beiges or very light oranges. If your child is too quiet, go for warm orange or yellow colors.
The wall: The center wall in your kid’s room is the fame area, where you allow space to display his achievements. Make your child feel proud of him. Provide enough space to display his trophies, awards, paintings or any other achievements. A bulletin board is necessary for the display of school papers.

Do you want to remodel your kitchen? Looking for renovating ideas that are more economical? Here are they. Read on to get some quick tips on how to decorate your kitchen within your small budget.
Color:
If the colors that you chose in the first remodeling project were rich and deep colors, this time go for some neutrals such as beige or gray. You won’t have to paint the walls of your kitchen again for a long time since these neutral colors won’t date the room.
Remove the dullness:
Your kitchen may now look so dull. Use decorative mirrors to brighten up the room. Place the mirrors across from a window or on a wall to capture the sunlight and bounce it around your kitchen.
Changes in the furniture:
It is a great idea to arrange the furniture of your kitchen according to the season. Since this is summer season, give the space a more airy feel. Hence, choose furniture that can optimize the entire space. Slipcovers over your chair are good decorating items.
Area rugs:
Warm up the kitchen. Add a splash of color with area rugs. When you purchase area rugs, take the measurement of the space as to get the right size.
Think green!
Cover up the bare ceiling corner by hanging up plants. These will soften up the room.
The kitchen accessories:
Change the kitchen from dull to dramatic by replacing the key kitchen accessories like toaster covers, salt and pepper shakers, canister sets and pot holders.

In Feng Shui bathroom, you can actually avoid any negative energy coming your way. Follow some universal principles in keeping your bathroom miles apart from all the bad drain energy they produce. Here are some tips for your Feng Shui bathroom.
The location: If you have a two-storey building then your bathroom should never be located right above the main house door or its wall. Your Feng Shui bathroom should not be visible from the main door of the house. Bathroom should face neither your bedroom nor your kitchen. The bathroom should not share their walls as well because all these elements bring negative energy to the residents.
Door and the seat: Always put the seat down and the door closed to keep the energy inside the bathroom. People have found it practically impossible to keep the doors closed because you need to let the steam out after a shower. Many bathrooms get a musky type smell when the bathroom door is kept close for a long time. However, if you want to let the positive Chi remain intact in your bathroom, it is recommended to keep the door closed.
If you don’t want to keep your door opened, place a plant on top of the toilet itself. Plants deflect the bad drain energy and add life force to your bathroom. Wind chimes by the window will also serve the purpose.
Colors: The ideal colors for your Feng Shui bathroom are earthy shades of brown or yellow. Therefore, the earth element in the colors would absorb the water element keeping it in the room and allowing its beneficial effects to remain in the house and be continuous for the people living in it.
The interiors: The toilet seat and the bathtub should have some space between them to allow the Chi to flow around. The windows should not be located directly in front of the door.
This way, design your Feng Shui bathroom and let the positive Chi flow into one of the relaxing rooms of your home!
