Cleaning damp carpet

Cleaning damp carpetWhat if your soft, welcoming carpet turns into spongy and squishy one completely saturated with water??? Uggh… This is due to the damp leakage. You don’t wanna let go off your luxurious carpet, isn’t it? Here’s how to fix the leakage.
The damage in your carpet may be caused either due to clean water or contaminated water. Let us first consider the clean water leakage.
• The clean water leakage may be because of sink overflow or malfunction of appliances using water supply lines.
• Now that the carpet is wet, avoid stains in the carpet by removing anything in contact with the wet carpet.
• Avoid walking in the wet carpet ‘coz this may spread the damage to unaffected areas.
Now let us consider leakage of contaminated water and how to prevent the damaging the carpet.
• If the water is leaking from a broken fish tank clean the carpet thoroughly and allow it to dry.
This way, remove the damage cause by water leakage and get back into your soft and welcoming carpet!

Things to Consider when You Start Spring Cleaning

Things to Consider when You Start Spring CleaningIt is highly irritating to find a year’s accumulation of irritants flying into the air when you start cleaning your home intensively. It becomes even more torturous when you are allergic to those substances. But, we say that the spring cleaning “exercise” can be a lot of fun! How? Read on our tips and you will also justify the daunting task.
Precautionary measure is the one-word answer. By preventing being exposed to the irritants, you can make the task safer. Here are they.
Ventilation: Proper ventilation is essential to keep away the dust miles from directly attacking you. Open as many windows as possible and then start the cleaning task.
Face mask: Wearing a face mask is half the job done because the protective gear reduces the exposure to dust mites, moulds and other allergens.
Damp cloth: Feather dusters are good for removing the dust, but not for your tender nose, as they only fluff up all the dust mites into the air.
Filter on your vacuum: Search for a vacuum filter that can trap very minute particles including dust mite feces and pollen. We suggest you to go for HEPA vacuum filters.
Timing: You should do the intense cleaning before pollination begins.

101 reasons to love your toothpaste

ToothpasteHave you ever thought of doing something crazy with your toothpaste other than just laying it on your toothbrush? Want to remove a stain without damaging the smooth surface of furniture and countertops or clean up glass surfaces and mirrors? Use toothpaste. The extra mild abrasives in toothpaste remove stains without scratching the surface. Toothpaste has worked wonders in removing water stains on finished furniture and stains on kitchen countertops. It also works on small rust stains. Simply rub a dab into the stain for about 30 seconds and wipe it away.

Toothpastes have all of a sudden grabbed housewives’s attention and have taken them to a different cleaning high. Right from stained crockery to scratch marks on glass utensils.. you name a hundred and one  kitchen woes .. and the good old toothpaste comes to the rescue! Use toothpaste on a cloth to remove black scuffmarks from linoleum.

You need to clean up your dirty jewelry when you are already in a rush to attend a party ? Just take an old toothbrush and apply a dab of toothpaste. Then proceed to gently rub your old dirty jewelry. Presto .. and voila ! You would be pleasantly surprised ! The different jewelry cleaners that are available in the market might be sold in the jewelry section of various departmental stores and might also work well – but there is no minty fresh smell when you clean your jewelry compared to the toothpaste. Also toothpaste works good in a pinch and spares your wallet ….that’s for sure.

Surprise your visitors!

visitors.jpgAre guests coming to your home on a short notice? Don’t go crazy if your home is unprepared to welcome your visitors. Follow some tricks, beautify your home and surprise the visitors!
1- Make it sparkly clean: Gather all your cleaning appliances and start cleaning the important parts of your house which often look messy. Clean and scrub your bathroom, kitchen sink, tubs and showers. Use a cleaning cloth or scrub brush for the purpose. Wipe down the oven and fridge. Don’t forget to clean your toilet.

2- Clear glass: A thin film is okay. But the guest will notice if your mirrors and glassware have smudges. Clean with glass cleaner and a clean cloth to make them shining.

3- Vacuum all of your floors: If the carpets are dirty, they will give a stale smell that will keep circulating through the air conditioning system. Vacuum clean your carpets.

4- Furniture: Dust your furniture to make them spotless.

5- Dump your dirty clothes in a basket: Put cloth baskets in every room. Dump your dirty clothes in them. Wash all dirty sheets, towels and clothes. Dry and put them away.

6- Cobwebs: Cobwebs hide behind your light fixtures only to come out when guests are there. Knock down all cobwebs.

7- Bed sheets and curtains: Put clean sheets on the beds. Change the dirty curtains.

8- Dustbins: Guests often generate trash. If you don’t want them to leave it on the floor, provide them a garbage bag to dispose off the litter.

9- Air freshener: Add air fresheners in rooms that need them.

Whether it’s your relatives or friends, if you want to impress people, make your home neat as a new pin and let them know that you are a man who knows true hospitality.
