Prevent mold in the basement
![]() |
So you have successfully protected all the areas of your home from the dirty accumulation of mold. But what about the basement? Have you checked the deposition of mold in the cluttered and dark environment of the basement? If no, then go and check mold which tends to hide behind the wallpaper, rugs and the sheet rock. Here are a few tips to steer clear mold from your basement. The first step of this task is buying a humidity meter to record the percentage of humidity in the basement. Buy a de-humidifier to keep the humidity below 60%. Remove all the chances of the excess humidity. If you notice condensation on the basement windows or on any pipes, dry these surfaces. The hot air put out by the clothes dryer in your basement should be vented out. Air in the basement should be moving around. Stagnant air leads to the formation of mold. Mold likes to eat organic material. So, don’t store papers or cardboard boxes on the floor.
