Plywood Rugs for your floors!
![]() |
Your floor adds on to the beauty of your home as much as the walls, the furniture and the ceiling. Those of you who have wooden floors with the ply that has grown old with time, can now set ablaze their radiance once again using what we call as plywood rugs!
Nevertheless a floor that is messy and is already in tatters won’t be an ideal match for such rugs. This is so because if it is too dry and is scraping out already, it may end up ruining your rug in no time. Your trying to do something with old plywood pays out only if the damages aren’t big and it will cost us less than making a new one.
Further if the staves of your plywood are not moving, it is a good sign of the fact that your ply is in perfect health and you don’t have to make new plywood but only take care of the old one a bit more carefully. If you have single staves, they might be stick up with special glue. Since these cannot be removed from the plywood, the best solution will lie in making holes in it and pouring the glue with a syringe or any other instrument which spreads the adhesive in a streamlined fashion. Once you have accomplished that, you can now cover the holes with lute to plywood to finally fix it.
On the other hand, if the ply is a bit too dry and also has an irregular surface, it can still be covered with the composition of epoxide resin and fine-grained sand. This composition will help covering all the small holes or crevices between the staves and other areas. One thing to be kept in mind is that this composition should not be made in very large amounts because it congeals fast it should be smoothed just after it was putted on the plywood. Thus making it in little amounts is advisable if you intend to apply it at multiple places.
Once you fix the floor, you can now choose a rug complimenting the walls of your room or contrasting them subtly. You could also choose them according to the color of your drapes which indeed play an essential role in complimenting the floor’s luminance. Though we may be only talking carpets, sometimes these minor changes can bring about some massive changes to your entire ambience.
