Comments Getting A New Pet
Getting a new pet is a huge decision especially if you haven’t ever had one before. It is true that a pet can provide you companionship and emotional support, but you also need to realize that the animal will need the same from you. You need to understand that an animal is a living creature and needs to be nurtured and taken care of 24 X 7.                     Â
A pet not only needs your time and love it will also need monetary investment from you, so don’t make any hasty decisions. Also, don’t let a well-meaning friend or relative (or Girlfriend) force the decision on you by getting you a new pet before you are ready.
Since you and your new pet are going to spend a tremendous amount of time together over the next few years, it is important that you are able to make the right choice about the best pet for you.
First and foremost you need to make a decision on what kind of pet you want. It’s not necessary to restrict yourself to a cat or dog you can choose any animal like snakes, fishes, spiders, parrots etc. Deciding on the type of pet you need to consider
Your personality—-active, sedate, outdoor type, social etc
You’re Space——–Big/small house, flat, apartment etc.
You’re Income——Exotic pets need more monetary care
Your time————All pets need time for fun as well as care, but again exotic pets need more.
Once you have decided on the type you need to carefully prepare your home. Just like with a baby, you need to pet proof your home, you’ll need to make sure they will not get hurt on anything within your home.
Make sure to ready a sleeping area for your new pet as well as a feeding and litter area. Find out where the nearest Vet is and what emergency facilities are available there. If you live alone or work long hours or travel you will need someone to watch over your pet.
Getting a pet may sound like a hassle, but believe me the joy of having one makes all the trouble worthwhile.
