Comment The best study space for your child
![]() |
If your kid during his/her study time is staring at their textbooks in an upside-down position with their legs over the back of the sofa blasting sound coming from the television and keeping their cell phone in their ears, then the whole session is definitely not going to be much productive. This is because your child is not given the right studying space in his/her room. So, make the best study space for your kid so that s/he can really enjoy the study time. Follow a few tips for the best outcome.
The study desk: First of all, provide your child with a desk. Make sure that the desk should be solid and well-constructed since children are really hard on furniture. The desk should be big, with a non-glare finish and should be comfortable.
The chair: Comfort matters! The chair should be very comfortable with cushioned seats in bright colors and patterns so that it will be fun for your child to use the study space. Don’t use rollers or swivels in the chair. Plush chair should be strictly avoided because it may only promote sleepiness.
Storage: Make sure that your child’s storage purposes are fully met. Provide your child with plastic boxes, shelves so that he could organize his stuff. Painted shelving and desk accessories, such as file cabinets, pencil holders, framed photographs and trash cans act as handsome enhancements that help to unify the space with the desired color scheme.
The color scheme: Use warm colors such as oranges, reds and yellows, which help create a cheerful atmosphere. Paint the walls a few tones deeper than the carpet. This makes the study space appear more inviting.
Lighting: Lighting defines the mood of any room. So, good lighting is very important for your child’s study space as well. Incident lighting is the basic requirement for a study space. The desk lamp should be fixed at a height that ensures that the glare is not directly into your child’s eyes.
The place for display: It will be highly motivating for your kid if you provide a place to display his achievements- his artwork, his medals, his shields etc.
Finally, ask your child to keep his/her study space uncluttered.
A well organized and attractive study space will definitely help your child to have a better studying experience!
