Kari Rashid is world famous personality in the designing world. He is known to craft his striking products from the modern materials like synthetic fibers. He is a graduate industrial design from Ottawa’s Carleton University.

He defines his products as poetic and fun. He believes that ‘’poetic design is based on a plethora of the complex criteria like human experience, social behavior, global, economic and political issues, Physical and mental interaction,

Form, vision and a rigorous understanding and desire for contemporary culture’’.

Kari works mostly on the modern materials such as plastic, foam and synthetic fabrics he feels that the medium challenges you as a designer.

Kari has designed for some of the biggest brands such as Ales’ , Dirt evil, Umbra , Prada, Miyake to Method and now he is moving towards developing nations like INDIA where he have patched up with the Magpie ,who is known for its chic steel accessories. Kari have designed more them 2,500 products and many of them have been award winning such as he had designed , the Tantalum bottle opener which was a sleek and curvaceous opener, designed like a steel bottle with a red blob at the top. It brought him a coveted Red Dot Design Award.

Kari does not have any store generally company purchases his design and then retail it through their chain distributors and stores. His Barware line have a luxurious accessories which includes bottle openers , ice tongs , ice buckets ,cocktail shakers , champagne buckets which are crafted out of steel and acrylic. 

Kari work is considered as an art by many people around the world and his designs can be found in the permanent collections of the 14 museums world wide, which also includes Momma in New York. He has been called as one of the young designers whose work will have an ever lasting influence in the 21st century.

Kari himself says that his work have certain sinuous quality, a sensual minimalism to his design. He adds that he considers himself more as an artist then typically just an industrial designer and there is some weird drive inside him to do something original. It is said that Karim generally works on his project on his airplanes as he says that that’s the only time he is alone and between the things he wish to design some of them are a stereo system, a private house and a robot. 

Kenneth Cobanpue is a world renowned desigBrad pit starrer Ocean ner from the Philippines and is acknowledge as man who have put the Philippines and Asia on the world design map by his furniture and accessories. He completed his studies in industrial design at the Pratt institute for the industrial design NEW YORK and made his impact at the Milan furniture fair in 2001; where he showed his creation with along side other designers from his native country.  Kenneth is known for his nature inspired accessories and furniture. He has worked with the biggies like Warner Brother’s

Brad pit starrer Ocean Thirteen in which he have shown his art. The Dragnet Lounge chairs, the Lola club chairs, Suzy Wong Arm chairs and the bar stools shown in the movie are his signature designs.

Brad pit was so much impressed by his designs that he bought his voyage bed, whose base is made up from the fastening used by the ship builders in the Philippines.

His designs seem to be the blend of the sinuousness of modern design and earthiness of natural materials. He is been credited for introducing the minimalism into the Asian design, which had been focused on carving and molding for many years.  He says that ‘’ industrial materials like the steel and the rot iron are cold where as natural materials gives warmth and the only way for the Asian designers to survive is to go more high- end  and do more designers furniture’’

Kenneth uses the several stuff like bamboo and abaca generally known as the Manila hemp, a tree with appearance of the banana plant, which is said to be the strongest natural fiber in the world and moreover it is also resistant to salt. He had also used rattan peel (surface layer of the rattan cane) which is known for its shinny finish and the sinewy texture and it also contains silica. It was actually part of his one of the most successful design Yin & yang, in which he used pieces of wire and wrapped in rattan peel which was standing on the stainless steel legs.

Among his master piece some of the things are Palomar Lounge chair in which he again uses the rattan strips that have been bent over a structural rattan frame after steaming. Each of them is individually tied with a nylon wire.    Kenneth Cobanpue tours New York, Paris and shanghais and displays his creation on the shows every year.
