Comments Granite Kitchen Tops: A Few Information
There is a big demand for granite counter tops in recent times. They provide an elite look to the kitchens and are also one of the most expensive counter tops you can avail.
But of course, there do exist certain disadvantages to granite. Apart from being more expensive, and the granite also could fool a stonemason. A big disadvantage of granite is that it can crack. Most cracking occurs while resettling. If the granite is not supported with strong enough beams, it may develop cracks. If choosing granite, care should be taken to make periodic sealing as it is a porous material. If this is not done, serious consequences as oily or acidic liquids could permanently stain the stone.
There do exist claims that granite is not affected by grape juice stain but it would be better if the wine glasses are replaced often. This is because the dropping one on a laminate counter top may be safer than letting is drop onto hard rock.
The open fissure composition has caused doubts of cleaning. But of course proper cleaning erases any problems in this area. Granite being a rock is available easily in natural colours. This makes it easy to choose the design of your choice. It should be noted that granite is a bit expensive per linear foot. It also accrues more expensive labour costs, as it is more difficult to work on granite than other flooring options.
But the granite counter top is an excellent option as repairing could be done easily in case of scratches. Even deep chips can be repaired by a skilled stonemason. The scratches caused on the granite top can be sanded and buffed making it a life-time choice. A granite top will bewitch the eyes of the beholder. If done perfectly, they are the best that you could avail for a long time.
