Comments How to Handle a Chopstick
Eating out in a posh Chinese restaurant with your colleagues? While you watch them ‘swoop’ the noodles with chopsticks, you are unimpressive; you are eating with a fork. Here’s a guide to assist you with your chore.
Step 1:
Hold a chopstick in such a way that it is between your thumb and middle finger. Place the chopstick in such a way that it lies at the base of your thumb and at the lower joint of the middle finger. Make sure that your chopstick doesn’t touch your forefinger.
Step 2:
Now, position the other chopstick in between your thumb and forefinger. The position of your chopstick should be such that the side of the chopstick rests against the tip of your thumb. The side of the chopstick should rest against the tip of your thumb; the top of the chopstick should rest against the pad of your forefinger.
Step 3:
Ensure that the tips of the chopsticks are parallel.
Step 4:
Keep the first chopstick stationary as you practice moving the second chopstick toward the stationary one.
Step 5:
Use this technique to position the chopsticks around a piece of food.
Step 6:
Hold the food firmly as you lift it toward your mouth. And you’re done!
