What’s on the bottom of your shoes? Is it sand and dirt from outside? Or the leftover dog deposits that cling to your shoes? No wonder why your carpet refuses to come clean. So, wear slippers or socks inside your home. The best way is to go around your home barefoot!
So you have vacuum cleaned your carpets since long. Well, this is the worst thing which could be ever done to the carpet. Don’t neglect to vacuum your carpet regularly. Many people use liquid carpet shampoos which leave a sticky residue if not rinsed out properly. The residue then acts like a magnet which pulls all the dirt from your shoes making the carpet dirtier. Hence, use dry carpet cleaners.
Stains are a hassle to remove. You should know that rubbing the stain breaks the fibers and spreads the stain. So, don’t rub, just blot. Most of the food stains can be easily removed by using a shaving cream. Spray on the shaving cream, let it set for a few minutes and then rinse with a vinegar and water solution. Brake cleaner is a also a good option to remove the food stains. Blot the stain by putting a few drops of the brake cleaner on a clean cloth. Then rinse with soap and water. Remember, pouring the brake cleaner directly into the carpet could dissolve the adhesive holding the fibers in the carpet.
If wax is sticking in the carpet, freeze the wax with ice and then chip off with the blunt side of a knife.
