How to Open Up a Clogged Bathroom Drain

Bathroom
Step 1:
For a moderately clogged drain, you can use baking soda and vinegar. Put about ½ cup of baking soda into the drain, then slowly pour ½ cup of vinegar down the drain. The acidic nature of baking soda and the basic nature of vinegar will create a foaming action which will loosen the clog so that it can be rinsed away.
Step 2:
Plunging and pumping a drain is a steadfast way to clear drain blockages. Place the plunger directly over the drain and pump rapidly up and down several times. When you take away the plunger, the water should drain away. If it doesn’t, try again.
Step 3:
If your drain is still blocked, using a drain auger is a good option. Drain auger is a thin long piece of coiled metal with a hook at the end. Feed the auger down through the drain, turning it as you push it through the drainpipe. Either you will push the blockage or pull it up with the help of the hook.
Step 4:
Now, run hot water down the drain once you have opened the blockage. Hot water will wash away anything that may be sticking to the sides of the drainpipes.

Accessories for your bathroom

Accessories for your bathroomBathroom accessories add style to your bathroom. The soap dishes, the towel bars, the toilet paper holder are important elements of your room’s design. However, the functionality of these accessories is enhanced only when they are perfectly fastened to the wall.
The fasteners used to hold the accessories are designed to tightly grip the wall once they are driven in. Some of the common fasteners available in the stores include self-tapping aluminum fasteners, toggle bolts and plastic inserts.

You can use plastic inserts for your light-duty bathroom accessories. They are inserted into a drilled hole in the wall and the screw is inserted. On the other hand, the aluminum fasteners are inserted directly into the wall. The insert is fixed tightly by a screw. You need to make a larger hole in the wall to secure the toggle bolts. They are best suited for heavy-duty loads.

Here are some steps of how to fix your accessories in the wall correctly.

First of all, find a position on the wall where you want to fix your accessory. Mark the position roughly with a pencil. Use an electric stud finder to locate the studs in that area.

Drive a mounting screw into the stud. Drill the hole to install the hollow fastener. Remember that the decorative plate of the accessory should hide the fastener once they are mounted on the wall.

Make sure that the accessory is firmly attached to the wall using screws or bolts.
